The Shepherd Shield app offers advanced personal security features such as real-time location sharing, automated emergency alerts, and customizable safety checks. Designed for proactive protection, it helps users stay connected with loved ones while ensuring swift responses in critical situations. The app’s user-friendly interface and robust privacy safeguards make it an essential tool for personal safety and peace of mind.
Key Features
Safety Alerts
From the main screen, you can view other Shepherd Shield users and incidents. Filter alerts by severity – Critical, Moderate, Low, and Information. Click on alerts to view detailed information about incidents. Cleared alerts are stored in history for easy reference.
Report It
A “report” function allows users to submit an incident or provide additional information about a situation directly to our Shepherd Shield Dispatch staff. Users can include video and photos with their report.
Saved Locations
Receive alerts for your current location, or saved locations such as home, work, and school. Open alerts to view additional details. Share the information with friends, or make an emergency call to your contacts, Shepherd Shield Dispatch, or 9-1-1 (requires a cellular signal).

Map View
View the screen in Map Mode and scroll to see incident locations, friends, and other Shepherd Shield users. Color-coded icons of nearby alerts will appear on the map.

Create Packs
Connect with other Shepherd Shield users to create Packs. You can use Packs to share messages and incident alerts.

Rally Point
In case of an emergency situation, create a “Rally Point” where you, your family, and friends can meet. Designate a location on the map and then send notification to your friends via the Shepherd Shield app.

Audible Alerts
Once you’ve downloaded Shepherd Shield, the app will recognize your location and send you updated security alerts based on proximity. This real-time threat assessment has audible alerts so you can easily tell the severity of the threat without even looking at your phone.
There are three levels of dog barks that get more intense as the threat level increases. The highest threat is sirens, which signals to immediately get to safety.
Low Alert (Yellow)
Soft Dog Bark
These are low-level threats that you should be aware of, such as traffic accidents and small fires.
Medium Alert (Orange)
Dog Bark
These threats are more serious than a low level alert, but ones you should still be aware of, such as a toxic spill, robbery, or stabbing.
High Alert (Red)
Dog Growl/Snarl
The sound of a snarling, barking dog, means you should be on high alert. These types of threats include a shooting, bombing, or terror event.
