About the App
Shepherd Shield is a mobile app for use on Apple and Android phones and tablets. The app allows users to stay aware of security threats while also keeping appraised of personal security.
It is more than a safety tool—it’s your personal security companion. The app offers real-time threat assessments with a user-friendly, color-coded alert system based on data from law enforcement, emergency services, and other reliable sources. We are testing the app throughout the United States.
Alert System
When a subscriber is in an area, familiar or not, the alert system provides a real-time threat assessment based on a color-coded alert index. The security levels begin with the lowest level of green for information-based alerts, then progress to yellow for low-level alerts, orange for moderate alerts, and finally red for the highest threat level.
Shepherd Shield alerts are issued when a subscriber comes in close proximity of a threat area. Users can also save specific addresses or cities – such as your home, work, school, or addresses of family members – to receive alerts pertaining to those locations.
Shepherd Shield users have a customized choice of categories, including high crime areas, active shooter alerts, terrorist threats, weather emergencies, and the addresses of registered sex offenders. Data can be viewed individually, as lists, and by using a map feature. Enable/disable the functions as you choose.
